100 Word Challenge Week #22
I slowly creeped down the stairs. That deafening bang keeps coming back every night. Now was my time to investigate. Frightening thoughts flew around my head as I questioned what was making that roaring sound. I was startled by a faint creak behind me. As I turned around, I noticed a ladder leading to the attic. Against my better judgement, I began to climb. My heart was pounding as I entered the attic. Suddenly the brown boxes stacked against the wall crashed to the ground. There stood my neighbours cat Felix holding a rubber goldfish in his mouth. Boy was I relieved.

100 Word Challenge Week #20
My heart pounded as I waited in my seat gripping
to the arm of my chair. 5,4,3,2,1… We have lift off!! I closed my eyes,
deliberating how the next two years of my life was going to be in space. My
friend Cassie and I dreamed of this day since we were kids. Our dream was finally
coming true. As we travelled through space, the beauty of the stars and planets
were dazzling. Yet I felt an eccentric vibe around me. We were moving very fast when suddenly a meteoroid crashed into the
engine of the spaceship. My heart stopped. I realized, we were never going to
make it home.

100 Word Challenge Week #16
Ever since I was little, I dreamed of being a superhero. I
would save the world and everyone would love me. The reality is, I’m just a
glabrescent hand with no special talents or abilities. People don’t even notice
me on the street. One day my whole world changed in the most awesome and
spectacular way ever. I woke up with a weird feeling in the pit of my stomach,
and could feel myself becoming bigger and stronger until I was ten times my
size. With my newfound body, I was no longer invisible. They called me Mano The
Great.

100 Word Challenge Week #14
Other monkeys have it so
easy. Not me… I’m different. Apparently, I was as the humans would say, “The
chosen one,” but I know I am just part of an experiment. They just want to
analyze me and pick my brain! Who do they think I am, Albert Einstein? So what
if I know the square root of pi or how to solve a rubix cube in under 30
seconds. These humans are driving me crazy! All I want is to go back to the
jungle. This computer is giving me a migraine. Who can live up to these expectations? I quit!

100 Word Challenge Week #13
I gave my last hug to my wife and kids and said “Goodbye.”
My eyes teared up as the truck I was on drove away. My fellow explorers patted
me on the back as we drove to the great South African jungle. Our mission was
to discover a new species, because of some rumours we have heard. We arrived in
the dead of night. The humidity was intoxicating. As we began building our
camp, the long grass that surrounded us began to sway. Even thought here was no
breeze. Suddenly, we realized that we were besieged by beasts. We tried to run
for our lives, but the tiger was blocking our escape.

100 Word Challenge Week #12
Myriads of resentful kids hurried to
the cafeteria. My mom packed me a ham and mustard sandwich like
always, but there was something wrong this time. The white bread
didn’t look so white. I cautiously took a bite, as if I was about to eat battery acid.
To my astonishment, it tasted fine. As I went to take another bite, I froze. I
looked at my sandwich, and it was whole again. As if the bite I had just taken
didn’t even happen! After school as I walked home, I was not so energetic.
My mom opened the door with a mischievous simper. “Happy April Fools Day!” she
said with a wink.
